The Skimz skimmer clan

Fly you don't understand what the aim is here. Yes it is to an extent to put pressure on skimz international to deliver on their warranty promises and to allow people with a simular problem a place to seek help. I have an entire range of skimz product that are now pretty door stoppers.

Please refrain from aiming the gun at the sponsors involved, that issue has nothing to do with this thread as it has been explain that an arrangement has been made for first generations skimz purchasers to deal directly with skimz themselves. I don't like it either but I will leave it at that.

@fly*
Issues around backup has been sorted, basically communication issues between suppliers. All that has been sorted and solutions have been put forward for who ever got any issues. The focus of this thread is to help people who got setup issues with their skimmers.

Stop bashing suppliers or retailers. Next comment in that direction will be deleted.

Hopefully full product support is back in place.

Personally I think this whole thread has turned a mole hill into a mountain and it's just so typical of this forum.

You're welcome to leave the forum if it makes you so unhappy, but please don't insult MASA.

frustrated.....

ok so recieved my tracking number on saturday (thanks Annie) so lets see how long it takes to get here...

good news my parts have aparently arrived so now to go home and see if they are correct and just in time, check the foam production!

that's where my water enters my sump from the overflow, it generates a lot of fine bubbles so foam has been produced as a result.

I must say the new pump and impellor has come just in time, I have even lost my blue carpet anemone and my xenia is looking limp.

Still sceptical about the lifespan of the impellor but I have a few photos I will share in the am

Ok so the new pump has arrived and been fitted to the skimmer, (thanks Skimz Singapore -Annie/Janet).

There are definate differences between the old and new impellor but if it can withstand the endurance test still remains to be seen>

the impellor also has machines edges to the pin wheel sections on the impellor,

Okie dokie, as I expected, my impeller for my SM121 went belly up last week. Heres a pic:

I rigged up a Sicce Suprema to work in the interim and mailed Skimz at the info address. Got back to me in a day, the impeller plus shipping is costing me R195. The skimmer is a year and a half old so it's no longer under warranty but they did give me a discount on the new impeller. Overall their service has been great, very effecient and I'm still very happy with my skimmer :)

and how is the Sicce Suprema performing compared to the Skimz Pump?

Well the Suprema is a return pump so the impeller is an S shape rather than the pinwheel design on the Eden. So tbh it's no where near the bubbles the Eden pushes out but then it won't be. It's doing the job so while I wait for the Skinz impeller to be delivered my skimmer is at least working.

What I do like, is the Skimz body design. It lends itself very well to other pumps and it's testament to its design that even a return pump works :)
