I bought 2 eggs about a month and a half ago. One is coming soon as there is not much space left in the egg and the embryo is depleted. Yeah 47 gallons wont be sufficient. Even the recommended size will eventually be too small imo
Post updates and pics please

Mine is a reef tank, should be enough space I hope as I do have a lot of LR in, I guess will just make more space If need be

Im sure the 1000l is perfect... just make sure enough space for him to move around the substrate.

Beautiful tank you got there. Just ensure the rocks are very secure as he will burrow himself under them and could cause a tumble. Do want that to break those montis or hurt him.

What's the length of your tank? They need more long tanks than what they need water volume. I would say 1.8M min length for a fish like this.

Mine is only 800w x 9ooH x 1.2m, will sell him when he outgrows this tank in that case

I know a few mates with large tanks, I appreciate your advise guys. I just upgraded as I had a modified RSM250 that I just broke down with sump in cabinet to have larger skimmer and phosban reactor.

Cool, post updates on the progress.

@mwjust69, don't take this post up the wrong way.
It doesn't seem like you did any home work regarding this specimen. They are pretty easy to keep, but are fierce hunters. Problem here is, your clam, clowns, shrimps, and everything else small enough to fit into his mouth. At night when you go to bed when the aquarium lights are off, all those things are going to disappear.
Buying a fish small to resell when it outgrows your aquarium is just not right, it put uneccesary stress on the fish, never mind hurting it whilst trying to catch it.
Just a few things to consider next time.
