Restarting 250 MAX

What’s up everyone. Just curious to know how much your tank temperatures are flactuating? I don’t mean through the day, I’m talking about every couple of minutes or hour, or does your stay completely constant between a 0.1/0.2 degree? If so could you please share how you manage to keep it so stable? And if you turn your heater off in summer
 
Would guys say a solid 1degree of flactuation in temp every couple of minutes is too much? My chiller causes my temp to drop from 26 to 25 quickly and then temp quickly picks back up to 26 and process continues. It happens over a couple of minutes

In a few minutes that is a lot, but the overall temperature is probably not fluctuating by that much, probably the water exiting the chiller is mixing with water going into the chiller and artificially decreasing the temperature shown on chiller, while the overall temperature of the water might not decrease by that much in the entire tank. Can you somehow put the input pipe by the overflow and the exit pipe by the return pump? Might make sure the water mixes better and also stop the chiller from switching on/off so frequently.

Thanks so much I’ll give that a try. Just really baffled as to what’s got my Nenny looking so grim these past weeks. Went from so happy and healthy to so sickly Looking and just trying to find the cause but nothing’s leading up :( as for coral and fish they are doing great and most of my Euphyllia has began developing new heads.
 
No 10kg is not sufficient. I bought a 40 pound bag of caribsea Argonite and only used 20 pounds (18kg). I chose to go with a relatively shallow sand bed as aposed to deep. Although 10kg will not even make an extremely shallow sand bed.
 
I bought 30kg, but haven’t started up the tank as yet. Plan on starting it when I go on leave in december

Nice, it’s quite a quick and easy setup. Take time with your scape and experiment with different styles till you are happy with the final scape. I put sand in last, after rocks and water.
 
Did you set your rocks directly on the glass? I thought of putting a sheet of Perspex down first and place the rocks on the Perspex

This is what I am doing. reduces the risk of rocs falling if a sand shifter or something decides to work around your rock.

Yes my rocks are securely attached to the bottom glass pane with putty. I would recommend doing the same.

Amazing work has been done to this tank it came along way since I last saw it the last time great work there no doubt.
