where in Gautang or the East Rand do you fill your co2 bottle and the price, please?

Mo, whip out the yellow pages and go see a fire equipment place, they'll be able to sort you out...

even a company like afrox will refill for you

I think Afrox will only fill their own bottles.

Your best bet would be as EJ suggested and look up a company that deals in fire equipment.

as far as i know my co2 bottle's at work are filled by afrox but ya maybe they only fill there own bottles....YEllow PAges:)

Hi buddy PM me and i will give you details to fill Co2 in Gauteng.

Carl

Hi Guys

The filling of Co2 is a very highly specialised and very very dangerous procedure. The decanting vessel is pressurised to 300 bar and decants a liquid into your cylinder at a temp of -275 K.and filling to 150 bar.

I had a cylinder filled at an LFS in boksburg and was completely horrified at the procedure and way in which it was done. SABS 019 regulates the procedure and filling of high pressure vessels and very few people or suppliers can conform to this. So please stick to the proffesionals

The cost was R 268.00 for a 5KG fill and on arriving home discovered that the "fill" was less than 20 bar.

Chubb Midrand and Kemptonpark will fill with Co2. R68.00 for 5kg and just over R30 for a 2kg bottle.

A while ago a certain reefer caused a lot off trouble with chubb midrand and for a year they refused to fill any Co2 for reefer. It was a lot of nice talking and the promise to buy all our vessels there to convince them to fill again.

So reefers, please handle with care else go to Boksburg and get fu!@#$ck over by an LFS and run the possiblity of being blownup by a high pressure gas cylinder.

Please note that this Co2 is not "Food Grade" but still well with in the parameters for reefkeeping.

The Co2 for paintball is still in a gaseous form and will not last on your reactor. you need to have a Liquid fill. What vessel, tank are you using?

No experience in paint ball but these guys keep decanting from 200 or 150bar I will try and find out more.

I will call the local paintball man in my area. Be intersting to find out as there is paintball city in Gauteng and they should keep big stocks of Co2.

Guys I think we missing the safety point Carl is trying to make here, rather take it to the pro's to refill.

Ja Gerrie's corner service station could service my M but would I take it there?

We have paintball in gumball city??

From Johannesburg on the N12 (Witbank/Benoni Highway) take the Kraft Road offramp.
Turn right over the highway - 3rd Robot left into Barbara Road then 2nd Robot left into Main Reef Road. Approximately 1km down Main Reef Road you need to turn left into Du Preez street. Follow that road to lead you straight to the main gate.

I filled the tank at Chubb in Midrand. They did a test on the bottle 1st, to see if it can hold co2 which cost +- R80.00 and then they filled my 7kg bottle total cost R192.00.

They close at 14:00 on Friday so they left the bottle at the security guard at the gate for my convenience.

Smithers, thanks, I will use them next time.
