My new Aquaforest Oceanguard 790

Thank you bud, i will def check it out and make sure all is good. Thanks for the good advice

Careful with the alkalinity spike these AF rocks cause.. Rather cure it in RO water, as the instructions say, before filling up your tank.
Omg i thought i was going crazy.... i'm currently fighting this exact issue after adding some extra rock.
Probably should've read those instructions hey :m28:

Same here :( my alk jumped from 8.2 all the way to 15dkh in a nano. Lost my bubble tip and a plating monti, but I'm finally starting to get it under control again

Time to start addind the good stuff. No liverock needed.

The lights are up and on their schedule. These lights are insane and ill probably only run them at 50% for now as they are super bright.

So I've added a couple frags to see what they do in the new system. All looks good. Just waiting on the last equipment to arrive and then the fun can really start. Nothing better than stocking a tank.

Hi Guys and Girls

I've decided to document a new adventure and some highs and lows with a new system - Aquaforest's Oceanguard 790.

Very excited to get this tank wet and all the goodies to arrive and start reefing with it...
How's the aquarium doing buddy

Hi Guys, ive added some chromis in order to run the tank a bit as I knew id be very busy with work. This coming monday ill receive the first of my fish on my stocking list, so im very excited. The store they are coming from have quarantined them now for a couple weeks and they eating and healthy all looking good. Ill post some pictures of them and the tank update. Ive also started adding some corals, but they are still all on the bottom of the tank as the lights are super bright even though im only running them at 40% midday currently.

This setup is looking awesome!

Thank you @icechilli , as always I just wish I could spend more time with the tank during the day. I've always been a firm believer in that if you want your system to thrive, you must understand your system by learning what the tank looks like when its healthy, meaning to recognize very quickly is something is off.

I've also just send away my second AF ICP test, so ill have those results early next week and also post that on here. Super nice system to have and the only true way of knowing what is in the water and also calibrating your test kits etc.
Neptune is also still out of stock in RSA with reagents so that's a real pain in the bumcheek.

I can see your attention to detail and how meticulous you are - gonna be a fun journey

What skimmer did you use? I am about to order this tank but can’t find a skimmer that fits in the skimmer section of the sump and is rated for this size tank. Thanks.

Ive been runniing the bubble magus skimmer while i awaited the delivery of the Deltec Skimmers in RSA again.

Deltec 1000i fits in there very easily and rated up to 1000L - @Reefstore South Africa hooked me up very nicely!!
