It is the biggest AquaMedic you can get, It is for the Pretoria Zoo's shark tank, it was built on special order, they don't stock them in Germany, and the why? it is going on a 60 000l shark tank

Hi everybody!
I asked Wessel to come and take some pics to show that those are not just pictures in the back of the Aqua Medic catalog!
These skimmers are manufactured on special order for use on very big water volumes, like aquariums and fish holding systems.
This is a Aqua Medic T20000 skimmer.Glynn Forman imported it for the Pretoria Aquarium and I had the privilege
of receiving it in Joburg and installing it for them.
Like I said,they make it on special order. It is not a item that is in stock.
These skimmers are very expensive. To give you an idea, just the main tube would cost in the region of R20 000!
If you look at it closely it is very well made and lots of attention to detail.
It stands 3.1m tall
It is 0.5m wide.
I could easily get inside it.
The water exits the skimmer through 2x 110mm outlets (toilet pipe x2)
The pump that drives the mazzei venturi does 20 000L/H.
It draws in 8000L of air/hour(a Aqua Medic Needle pump does 600L/H)
It is possible to push 25 000L/H water through it.
This skimmer is rated for 20 000L of water(run a few in parallel if it is to small for the system they say!!!) Sounds straight forward if you are German,hey MR.L
It arrived at my place in a 4m wooden crate. The cup was in a big box.
It is going on the shark tank at the Pretoria Zoo.
I will organise some pics once it is running on the tank and producing some skimmate.

Gees this thing is literally a monster.
I reckon the amount of water just in the tube is half of whats going into my cube. :blink: wonder what would happen if i put one of those on the cube.? hmm, probably skim the fish out the water.
