Les, yeah, long overdue, hey. We're moving end of August to Berlin, will do braai when house is ready, lekker pool there as well, maybe have the next tank braai there by us in the summer.
Hey Reaper you guys move often hey. Why do you keep pissing the neighbors off.![]()

Les, to calculate exactly, you would need to know how much your utility company charges for electricity.
Monthly Cost = xkWH(in Rand) x Wattage of a Light x Number of Lights x 30 days x Number of hours in a day / 1000 (to convert kW into W)
Where xkWH is the cost of electricity in Kilowatt Hours. Here by me it's quite cheap at at 45c for 1 kWH.
Well @ R9 diffs it's worth keeping what you already got but how about working out how much extra your chiller will have to work to keep the temp the same as running 150w?
Les why not go T5's?
yeah the chiller is what i feel thats drawing most power

Well I would be very interested to find out what a chiller will cost to run - anyone got any ideas?
Are we looking at R100 a month or R300 a month?
Also what would 11 x 54w 4x 36w and 3 x 24w cost to run if the on for 12 hours a day?
suprisingly.i actually was under the impression, the chiller draws most powerI beg to differ. Chillers actually draw less power than you think. Mine draws about half of the power my 450W of Metal halides draw IIRC. Will try remember to check this evening.
