Good news is that it seems that there is interest in opening another big supermarket where the Pick 'n Pay was. Also heard from two shop owners that they think the only reason the P'nP closed was because it was badly run. So still lots of potential...mmmmmm now where did I put that R450K....

Well we certainly hope so :) . If admins think this is commercial please just delete it.

We were a little concerned that it would affect our business but interestingly P'nP has been closed for about a month and a half now and July 07 was our best month ever by miles. We have noticed a drop in sales in hamster food and bird seed :) . But we are known for our fish and marine stuff in particular and we are now a destination store as apposed to joe soaps pet shop.

PnP was very badly run so hold thumbs for us, it has put a bit of a spanner in our plans of selling but we are confident that a new shop will be here soon.

Ryan did they close or didn't they just moved ?? Cause I heard there is a pic 'n pay were the spar was.
 
Nope they definitely closed down. The guy who owned it had some aggreement with PNP to use their name. He was apparently 2bars in debt and never stocked the shelves properly. PnP head office pulled in here one day and locked the doors and pulled all their stock and branding out. We had to beg PnP to let us in to get our predator display tank out of there.

That other PnP you refering to has been there for some time already, if its the one i'm thinking of.
