Very nice toys, Bob is that a branded skimmer or a diy project?
 
Bob, do you have plans for the DIY calcium rx? If so, if it's not a secret will you be able to post it here on MASA?
 
DR, I've been very chuffed, it pulls out a liter to a liter and a half of coffee dark skimmate. Its not set up right as the pump supplying it is in sump, ie I couldn't pump straight from the outlet pipe as the pump kept getting airlocks so it is not getting first crack at the tank water, as it is being diluted.

But its fine for this 1000l system. He He.
 
Alan, I imported this big skimmer for a client about eight years ago. They then changed to a smaller tank and eventually changed to a more reliable under tank skimmer.

I took it of him, out of duty to a client. You understand.

It was like a massive Red Sea Berlin skimmer. I took out the insides, got new holes drilled and acrylic sadles put on. I redid the pipework using the existing venturi and got a static mixer from Mazai in Cape town. Fitted a Pisces pump (what AM use on their huge skimmers) and it all works like a bomb.

Galibore I will post the plans, they're pretty easy must figure out how to draw them for you though.

Eish!!!...This system is a real inspiration...I think it should be shown to the guys who is giving up, it should get them full force back into the hobby...Would love to view it oneday(Hopefully before it comes down)

Hi Bob - thanks for the explanation of the skimmer. How about more pics of it? And the skimmate it creates? How about some more info on you lifestock?

How many fish do you have in your tank?

Also - please post some more pictures of your tank for us all to ogle? Please? Pretty please?
