I had a 35W LED unit on a TL550 and for me it was not enough. Upgraded that to a 54W LED unit, Maxpect S. DO not get those anymore as far as I know. On the other Nanocube 24G, same size as a TL450 I got a 35W LED unit. And there the 35W seems
to do its job. But OK the rock stack is high and anemone is max about 20cm lower than water surface.
Dont know if anyone would agree but i would suggest doing a 10% water change every day by making up the mix the night before do the change and make up the mix again for the next day for a week and do test every 3rd day this should get all your parameters up safely without losing your tanks bio
Its possible to get away without water changes if you're keeping a close eye on ALL your parameters. But then you not testing ANYTHING?? I think thats a bit unfair on your tanks inhabitants.. There are certain things we can skimp on in this hobby and ALOT we can't. If you not planning on doing regular water changes, you have to invest in test kits etc.. I say pass the anemone on to someone with a more stable tank until you get things in order..
1W might be better. Might even get away without using proper heatsink and fans But you will run out of space. With 1W leds, just mounting 54 of them is a schlep. Drilling 108 little holes for the screws. And the spacing above your tank. Is it a TL450 or TL550? How to fit in 54 leds?
With 3W leds, you need 18. 36 Little holes. A heatsink or whatever that will actually fit above your tank.
