ATO recommendations/advice

Hi all

I've recently been looking for an ATO for my 10 gallon marine tank. I've come across this on amazon.com: ATET Auto Top Off that works out alot cheaper than buying any of the ATO's available in South Africa. This product seems to have good ratings, however, I am concerned about the voltage as I can not find any information on whether it would be viable with SA voltage. Does anyone have experience with the same or similar product? Also, what reliable and somewhat affordable ATO's are you guys running?

Hi there,

Okay based on the link provided, I seen one of the comments and noted the power adapter is a 12V, but uses an input of 100-240v, so to get it to work this side, you'll need something like this:

US to EU adapter

In terms of what I use, I have one of those bubble magnus float valve units placed inside my sump, and connected to an elevated oasis 20L water bottle, which gravity feeds to top up..

I went with a timer based ATO this time around, just used a sonoff and top the tank up for for 20 seconds 4 times a day, once in a while will need some adjusting but has been good for the last 6 months

Might be a stupid question, but what did you use for this? Just a normal pump on a smart plug or a specific ATO with the smart plug?
