Sorry I don't know the properties of metals. Just don't use copper. A freind made one as well and he used stainless steel wire feed from a welder. His works just the same.
Thanks for the comments. Here's a couple more. Wish I had a better camera and some photography skills.
FoxFace was a baby in this pic. He is now a little over 6" long now. I just like this pic
Another older pic
Hey guys. It works. I've also been using it to nuke some of my larger mushrooms that are trying to take over a patch of zoo's. I'll post up a before and after pic of that little project later. And thanks jaybeepee for the explaination on the chemistry of how it...
Ok. So living in Canada I don't really know what is available in your country so here it is.
You need these items.
Stainless steel haywire
A Remote Starter Switch (basically an on/off switch)
Heat Shrink
A transformer (I used a charger for a cordless drill) Use one that puts out a minimum of...
You can build a zapper and electrocute them. I did and it works great. You don't have to take anything out of the tank. Works on majano anemones as well. And Joes Juice is just kalk paste by the way. Much cheaper to mix up your own if thats the route you want to take. But trust me the DIY zapper...
These people gave you the best advice. You basically have two choices.
1: trade, give it away or sell it.
2: put it in your tank and have it killed.
I'm not trying to be a jerk just speaking from experience.
Thanks for the comps everyone
Thats actually a Turbinaria sp. A Pagoda Cup Coral it's pretty easy to keep, I've had that peice for about 6 years. But it sure looks like a goniapora. And yes my system has a twin overflow.
What I'm saying is that if your going to breed the fish than they should have their own tank for this. There is really only one good reason to try and raise fish. To make money. Who in the right mind would want to keep all those fish? If someone tries this just to see "if they can do it" and...
This happens in my tank every month. And the routine is exactly the same. The male constantly looks after the eggs and the female checks up on them occasionaly and chases any of the other fish away if they get too close. I have never counted the days but when the eggs get silver (more chrome...
You can culture some rotifers. I bought some from LFS, they have to be refridergated. The ones I got were not visible to my eye. They were 0.5mm long apparently. I would put the eggs in a totally seperate tank with only an airstone if I was you.
Thats cool! Sorry to rain on your parade but it takes alot of time and unless you have a proper setup to house the eggs and the time to maintain their needs don't waste your time. You'll only get disappointed. I thought about raising them as well and after doing alot of research on the matter I...
He lives with a naso tang and a yellow tang and no problems at all. When I first put him in he just showed his fins and I'm sure the other tangs figured it out, all buddies now.
