Hi Every one .

Brand new to the salt water marine hobby .
I do have a very large pond / swimming pool full of koi that my Koiweilers ...Aka Rotweilers fully use in summer . Hopefully they will stay out of the marine tank ;)

Back to the Marine side . I was gifted a Boyu tl550 with loads of live rock . Unfortunately it was not well looked at .

Everything is now cleaned and up and running .....However I do have a sneaky suspicion that this small little tank is just me stepping into a big very dark hole .....

Looking forward to this journey .
Ps .....any criticism welcome on my first try at aqua scaping.....

welcome, it most likely be the case that the small tank is but a stepping stone.. How are things going?
You absolutely right ....It wasnt a stepping stone ...it is a absolute vortex that wpulled me into a deep dark hole ....;)

I have litterally set up a 1.2m x 600mm tank within a month of getting pulled into this hobby . . The First batch or twwo of water i made using Pure natural harvested rock salt . No additives or refined in any way :m04: ....If that was not naughty enough...I then did the unthinkable and filled my tank with 50 % Seawater collected from Gordonsbay :m28:

Day 4 i had Bubble tip anenomes in the tank . Day 6 two clowns

That followed by a few ...7 locally collected Urchins straight into the new tank . Day or two later a Blue tang ...A orange shouldwer tang ....1 x six line wrasse a Golden Watchman Goby and a Neon Damsel made it into the tank with a few corals as well as a few Zoas and a Mushroom or two.

2 of the urchins did not make 48 hoursd .
The Neon Damsel died within 12 hours of buying it .
For the rest they all surviving and doing verry wel.

Today i added 3 x Pajama Cardinals and 1 x Fox face :m04: Fingers crossed Lets see where this is leading to
Already planning to build a rather big tank :m28:
Dont think i will have the 1.2m for long

Pushing and exploring boundaries ......

A few pics of what it looks like now .
