i seem to have a bit of gha on a piece of my live rock. there is not much at at the moment but i dont want it to spread so what are my options? my tank has only been running for two weeks now.

2 weeks in means your tank should still be cycling. Leave your lights off as you will only get a huge algae farm going.
yes it is cycling still only have the lights on for a bit each day. its only on two of the smal rocks would it be better to take them out and cook them?
That is a last resort if it's been hapening for months.
Like Marius said, your tank is cycling, just leave your lights off, if you want skim wetter. But sometimes guys just get in a cycle. What lights you got?
As the guys said its only been two weeks. Let it cycle and do its thing. I know I fiddled a lot with my tank and was not the most patient person. I rushed a lot of things that came to bite me on the a$$ a bit later. Patience will pay off in the end.
the thing is there is no life on the rock it basically dead rock i got it from some one in Richards Bay who moved his pet shop back to his house so the rock was out of the water for a few weeks i think. the rock had a greenish colour to it but i didnt think much of it but now i see its got a very small amount of what i think is gha on it reason i am worried is because i have seen someone else's tank around here who said he only had a little bit to start with but now the whole tank is over grown with the stuff(same person dudleyD wants to buy the regal tang from so he can tell you how bad it is). i am running 4 t5 54w tubes in a 10000k,12000k an actinic and a blue. run the actinic and blue for maybe 3 hours and the whites for an hour or 2. is this to much?
I thought the rock was from Durban? If you got it from Carel, I am sure it would of been from somewhere local, and it is probaly dead if it has been out the water, I doubt there is much then to cause a cycle. I doubt the phosphates would be leaching out now. Maybe just leave the lights off completly till the cycle is done. I thought it was you though who posted pics of lakka live rock? With the tubeworms and the rock pool nemmie?
The other person you are talking about with the GHA problem, he has a skimmer that I would not even put on a nano, and he has all that lava rock rubbish in his sump. He wont listen and has ended up like that from not taking advice.

After 5 weeks get a blue legged hermit crab. He will mow through that algae in a week and then sit around all day waiting for it to grow back 
I did post those pics but sadly i havent seen the nemmie again i got that live rock from marco in durban but i had already bought 3kgs from carl it looks like i would be able to use it as base rock so didnt want to waste it will take a pic of the two peices from carl tomorrow then you can advise me on whether i should leave it in or not.
