Lets see your sound

ill allways win!! rock is the way forward

is that the best he could do?

Got me self a new sound system last year.
Also gone the Cambridge Audio route. Excellent sound.
Got the top notch Energy Speakers and bought me the Energy Sub in December.Took me 4 months to "build up" the system as it is way too much money for one go- for me at least

Thanx sean ... my problem with buying electronics is our biggest stores here in Newcastle is Game or Hi-Fi corp - I worry about buying electronic goods from the bigger cities as the guarantee becomes a problem freighting the components up and down - I still have my "New class A" Technics componant set when cd players first came out around 1990

Chiks - sorry to hear about the Moorish Idol - We will get you another healthier one - If you lookin at getting good sound - do it a little at a time . Get a nice all round amp like Onkyo or Yamaha that will make ur movies come to life. Then get a Set of speakers -I dont like the mass produced speakers cos the cabinets are not made well and not suited for the speaker. I bought a set of Monitor Audio from Audio Architecs in heritage market in hillcrest. Wait for specials around the East Coast House and Garden show. The Monitor Audio are british speakers but Cambridge- Bower & Wilkins Are excellent speakers.
If you do it slowly you will end up with a top notch system with excellent clarity.

I am not big into large all in one amps as the inputs & such change all the time HDMI 1.3b and so on component system costs more but cheaper in the long run if one wants to keep up with the latest formats

my sunfire is 2800 watts @ 8 Ohms I wont need more power & will not need to upgrade in years - the pre amp will change every few years to keep up with all the new formats.

Vatso - I am getting 100% where you getting from. BUT, as I said. I am into Audio-Visual (watching some movies with better sound than at ANY Ster Kinekor/Nu Metro that I have ever been to! ;) - except - no - I am not comparing to IMAX ;))....
BTW: You talking about inputs have you SEEN the Yamaha DSP-A1's inputs and outputs in the rear? MY HDMI I connect to my Philips DVD-Recorder's HDMI jack - not to my amp's - the amp is purely for the 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS sound.... ;)

I agree with you - if one was into music only - yes. By all means.

Sean_K - thanks man!

Well - the neighbours did moan a wee bit, but all I do is pump the sound then! ;)
