Hey guys and gals. I want to find out if anyone is using Aquaria's synthetic rock for scaping? Pros and cons of it? I really do like the look of it compared to that of caribsea for example. Looks like mature rock compared to the whitish look of other. Any info would be great

I use @Aquaria-SA synthetic rock.
No problems with.
I have made bigger holes under the over hangs or archways to allow any fish to sleep or hide in them.

Hi I am going to give you my opinion although people will disagree. The artificial rock may look better short term than the white rock but with time the white will look the same. The artificial rock is hollow and dirt gets trapped inside. I know bacteria will grow on anything and that is all the artificial rock will be good for as for filtration I didn't think it gave the same result as real rock. The colour of the artificial rock fades after a while so to get the rock for that purpose will be a loss.

I never had any problems in my tank with live rock but on both tanks that I started with artificial rock I could not get the same result and always had diatoms or slime or something that would not go away.

I personally think nothing works better than the real deal.
It might take longer but the end results are far better.

I agree with @desiree . There are really nice shapes in artificial rocks, so it does look good, but IMO you should not rely on it for filtration at all.

I still have LR In my tank it's not just artificial.

I've use it for height and swim throughs and caves.

Never used it but i have seen tanks where it was used and those tanks looked fake even with coral in them,I wont use it only the real thing in both my tanks.

I have used fake rock in the past and have always had phosphate problem while using it
