Dude, that is an awesome skimmer! Was rated at 1500L but was then reduced to around 900L so if I work out your DT to being around 540L then provided that your sump isn't another 500L your skimmer should be perfect :p I've got the same one - haven't got it going yet though.

I haven't needed to do any zeo research but from what I understand, and don't quote me here, isn't it supposed to be a complete system not needing anything else but a deep pocket and a good skimmer... ?

Btw, how are you planning on connecting those overflow holes to your sump? I'm just about to drill my tank so I'm fishing for ideas :lol:
 
You will defnetly need to do some reading on Zeovit..

No phosphate remover should be used and also no Denitrator..

Skimmer and Zeo Reactor is all that is needed..

So I have done some more research. I will not be going the Zeo route as I will be having mostly softies.

I will be using the NP reactor and pellets.

Nice one - seems to be the "in" thing to do nowadays... I'm going to be doing it as well - got my reefocto reactor but I'm still building the rest of my tank though :p

1x Special Grade Reef Sand 18kg
1x Fiji Pink 6.8kg
1x Flamingo Reef 6.8kg
1x Odyssea Light Unit

Any advice appreciated!!

My OCTX 160 skimmer is skimming like mad! Can it be that the water is too clean? I only have 2 Clowns and one hermit and a Coral Banded shrimp.
