Stupid isn't it.

Now the load shedding is causing problems, they are complaining about the sudden surges when the switch it back on. I switch light on so I know when the power comes back on.:whistling:

I just received a phone-call from my very worried wife. She is worried because she just heard from a friend's fried (now everyone knows how true that could be ;-) that the WHOLE of Cape Town will be without power from 7pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday) to 7am the following morning.....

Any comments on that? I am not too worried - because my water level in my tank / sump is NOW a little bit TOO low (due to yesterday's fiasco) - and I have a 12V power-head that can last quite a while, at least.....

WTF. Sat without electricity for 2 hours this morning. At 5 this afternoon they decided to switch it off again. I mean fu..sakes. People are trying to live here
 
I mean, they selling/supplying to our neighbours(zim) and said on air they gonna extend their contract, but they cannot even supply their own country....
 
sorry for 3 posts, but sitting outside on cellphone next to gas cooker trying to prepare food. And they say we live in land of milk and honey. In dark ages rather. How can 1 company as big as Escom not have foreseen this shit 5 years ago. Has no one in Escom ever played Sim City. And that game tought us about electricity planning 15 years ago. Please guys, send them the game....

I heard a rumor that exdom is going to service the one nuke turbine sometime.. So expect another spanner in the works!! :p

Then I suppose Eishcom had Sim City, so Rather send the game to The Government instead...oops, sorry, forgot... they do not know how to read or switch on Computers, otherwise they would see all the complaints of all the people trying to look for answers...
 
Guys please stop calling it load shedding, it is power cuts full stop. Eskom's spin :nono:

It is the way to go, start saving now costs about R20K all told. Works like a dream. Only draw back if the diesel hasn't been used within 6-8 weeks you have to replace. 100 litres at time is not cheap.

if it gets close to diesel replacement time we run the house on diesel regardless of power cuts or not.

I have set up the same at our business.
 
I also had a power cut yesterday.Power was supposed to be of from12hoo untill 14hoo. At 14hoo the power came on for 15seconds. At 19hoo I ran my return pump for about 15min on the computer ups. Then I borrowed a faulty gennie and could not get it to work in the dark. At 21h3o I spoke to escom call centre an was told they do not know what is the problem and also do not have an idea when the power will be back on. By 23hoo the power came on for 3 minutes and the chiller said the temp is at 27.6 degrees. Well the power came back on at 01h4o the next morning.
I think this is criminal, the new big shots that was issued with high jobs because of previous injustices are quick to accuse but very quiet when answers must be given.
I know this has a bit of political sounding stuff in it, and apologize if I am offending anyone but how else can we say it?
Give me the right advice and I will say it in the correct way and apologize in public.
AGAIN THIS WAS NOT SAID WITH THE INTENTION TO GAIN ANY POLITICAL POINTS OR CREDITS

Hi freind had load shedded today for 3 hours thank god no problems got a battery air pump on standby with a airstone,works like a dream
