Ok so it wasn't my finest hour. Managed to get a second hand filter from peter and whilst i was cleaning it i broke the ceramic shaft ! Anyone know where i can get one ?
 
Hi KSSquared - what model pump is on this? Won't Sean at Northlands Pets have some? Or alternatively - don't you have other older blown power-heads, that you can try/take the stainless steel shaft from their impellers? Or perhaps use another old pump's complete impeller (see if it fits!)?
 
Thanks Jacquesb, I have successully modified a stainless one from another pump !! Now I have overcome that hurdle, I find there is a tiny crack on the valve (the bit that joins the hoses to the filter with the valve/tap on it) !!
