Appreciate it bud,

I see you are in Bryanston. I work here. Where can i find a nice shop to buy these?

Thanks

Hi Martin,

Places not too far from here are Jungle Aquatics and Idol Marine.

Hob Skimmer: there are a few options available. I am using the Bubble Magus QQ1 nano skimmer. Not the best but it gets the job done - rated for a 100 litres. This is my collection cup from Sunday:

You can also look at the HOB skimmers available at Reef Aquatics - 2 sizes available. Those were rated for 500 to 80p litres. The more experienced guys will be able to comment on this but I think that will be absolute overkill.

I have to agree with Superfrog, you can use a phosphate media - look at sea gel. It's a carbon and phosphate removing media. Start using this when you start with your cycle.

What I have learned since starting is that it is a good idea to automate as much as possible. An ATU, dosing pump and temp controlling probe is a good investment.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum.

Regards,
