Cebu reef fish are totally hot right now! It seems like everywhere we look there’s some new species, rare morph or absolutely wild aberration shipping out of the Northern Philippines. We’ve covered some aberrant pygmy angelfish before but what makes this koi coral beauty angelfish special is that it’s been captivity for over four months and still looks pretty wild.
The unique coral beauty angelfish, Centropyge bispinosa was imported back in late July of this year and Jimmy Ma of Hong Kong was diligent about photographing this fish at frequent intervals to document whether or not this fish would revert to a more normal coloration as so many of them are prone to do. Although the coloration of this aberrant coral beauty angelfish from Cebu has changed a little, for the most part it has retained its unique features and to some degree the yellow-orange coloration has become a more brilliant orange overall. Check out the progress of the aberrant coral beauty from Cebu in the gallery below, thanks again to Jimmy Ma for the wonderful and very insightful pictures.
