Clowns laid eggs again.... this time close to the glass, so that I could get some nice pics.

Usually they just ate them shortly after laying them and I always wondered why. I see now that the eggs were probably not viable previously, as they were much lighter in colour, and didn't have the eyes showing. Anyway they're protecting them toothe and nail now.

Seems a pity that they're just going to go to waste:(

what would u do if they hatch and u had hundreds of baby clowns? :p
 
Lekker bru a sure sign of a system running well. Excellent food sorce. They look tile they on about the 3-5 day mark?

Is this a sign of a system running well? My pair has now laid their second batch, was watching & waiting in anticipation to see the 1st batch hatch but with the arrival of our daughter I completely lost track of the days... I was told they take about 2weeks to hatch, is this correct? so i can monitor this batch which was laid on Friday.....:thumbup:
 
Broder im my limited experience with clowns breeding my clowns would lay every 2 weeks approximatley
Then you needed to determine if it was an 8 or ten day hatching cycle..
once this is established you can catch the babies if you like by waiting approx 1 hour after lights out on the last day of the cycle before putting on the lights again.. the babies would have hatched..

i would recomend putting pumps off and using a piece of airline to syphon the babies out.

you gonna have to be quick because a feeding frenzy will commencw wne the fish figure out whats happening.. :)

rearing and care was never my strong point.. foods were limited when i triied my hand at the whole process..
