Definitely dont raise your parameters quickly. You dont want another swing adding more stress to your livestock. Do a daily water change, ot huge and you can also top up with salt water instread of ro. Just let your tank run. But dont do sudden changes.
I feel your pain bud. Battling nutrients is a pain in the backend. But its not something to give this awesome hobby up for.
You say that you moved your sand/rocks over to a new tank? I am not sure of your tank/stock levels and how long its been running. But disturbing a sand beach will cause...
Depends why you want to clean it. If you syphon you might suck up bristle worms or pods etc. good stuff. Sometimes just a quick scrape to get the detritus airborne and then letting it go into the overflow is good enough. Take a very small powerhead and blow over your substate and rocks also work...
Im 99% sure that its a .05ml scoop - You should contact the lfs to replace the scoop for you. Its pretty hard to measure .05ml unless you have a scoop and a tiny bit - few grains, can give you inaccurate readings.
