I was cleaning out my old sump and found my long lost scraper (1mm sheet about 8cm square) lying on the bottom under the silt. it was heavily rusted. Question is what would the impacts of increased (high?) iron oxide levels be? Everyone in the tank looks happy aside from my 4 Turbo's which spend a lot of time shut down in their shells.

Thanks Palmerc, was worried about the high levels of iron. I will check the phosphate again but it is usually low anyway.

I thought that a very low level of iron was OK but high levels were a bad thing Thalion. That is why I was worried

Just a question, but I think some P04 remover is/contains Iron Oxide/rust?

Clinton can you confirm this?

Most of it does. It is the concentration at which Iron oxide becomes toxic that I was concerned about.

Yes it does.

See, I must be sober to think of complex things like this:lol::lol:
No ways dude, your brain needs fuel. And alcohol burns pretty clean.

What's taking so long? :)

Ahh that better.

My king 3 pumps on my ts3 has been rusting a little for quite a while now and I have had no ill effects.
