Well This is a Sad goodbye.. waste of money and time...

Power tripped this morning. UPS kicked in but died after an hour.
Got home now and tank Dead.
....
..
.


I give up.
 
By looking at Ups logs..
27 hours
Been away for the weekend
my yellow goniopora must of taken the biggest hit..
Ammonia is through the roof..

Oh well .. Time to start all over..
About to clean live rock and clean substrate..
amazing my Clarks Survived. they in Hospital tank now
 
No, don't give up! You have come to far to just give up, you know you can start her up again and do it better, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. I know the feeling of wanting to give up after a tank crash, but I must say just the amount I enjoy of the tank is much more then I would get from any other hobby. Extremely sorry to here about you losses.:(

Ive learnt from this..
Setting up that a email gets sent when my ups goes on battery..
Thankful my tank isnt stocked.. and my Clarks are fine.

I think this is a Sign to start my big tank..
 
No Stress Henk... all is good.. its still a new tank :) on a few corals...
Nothing worth stressing about..

Just to make you feel (slightly) better - the goniopora would have died a slow death in any case. They need specialised feeding (live zooplankton and phytoplankton), and VERY few of them survive longer than a year in our tanks, slowly starving to death.

Hey Xereo, sorry to here aswell, but like u said ,fairly new an so the knock wasn that bad I hope, but take the positives out of it dude, start over BIGGER........ We here to help, holla if u need a hand, keep it real
 
Guys any of the Cape Town Reef Junkies would do the same. @maxisoft - i'm just the importer of the goodies :D

Sorry to here man! :( I just lost 70% of my livestock while I was gone overseas, the light timers where interfered with and the tank ran on a 24 hour period for a good few days. I know the feeling.
