Hey guys,

I am a complete instructables nutter. I came across this today...

How to use burnt Compact Florescent Light Circuit Module

Wouldn't it be possible to use the ballast in a high power CFL (I've seen ones up to 44watt for like R50 at spar) to power T5s?

Herkie did this, he posted pics somewhere, I'll see if I can find them.

oki, the engineers here at work have lent me their ballast design software, i am going to build and price a 54w and 39w T5 ballast and see if it is cheaper...
will start a thread

hahaha! More like burn the house down! Going to have to keep these things cool somehow... I have a few old CPU heatsinks lying around...

Like this - but will try without the fan first...

You can buy them up in JHB for like R30 at communica, although tbh I didnt see them the last time I was there. Lucky I bought a couple!
