You know these "activists" are really starting to dance on my tit muscles...PETA wants to ban fishing, and rename fish to Sea Kittens...And they're serious about it too, billboards and everything in the states.
Now they want to ban marine aquariums...I ask you with tears in my eyes, if these guys get their way, what exactly will we be allowed to do????

They want to ban our Hobby, they wanna ban fishing, they did ban beach driving, yet..... and this is hilarious... The planet is getting warmer by the day, Alaska is melting away, pollution and global warming are throwing the whole planet in a downward spiral, and they worry about the small things.. Eish, and then whatever is left, gets stolen etc

Why dont they start worrying about the question of water pollution the industries and others are creating, if this isnt stopped we aint gonna get anything anywhere not even we can survive that. F speak for themselves. He makes millions on diving expeditions and worries about the pettie kak in life.
I think he has a valid point, but are tackling the issue the incorrect way. I know there are some illegal fish collecting doing the rounds and like all other laws, needs to be re-enforced.
I always say, everything in moderation. All of our suppliers have a quota of fish they can extract from the reefs. The number of fish they extract are FAR LESS than the number of fish fishing boats harvest from the sea! Most of the fish species we eat and take for granted are more under thread from extinction than any of the fish we keep in our aquariums.
In this hobby I have seen many people trying to research and make effort to breed some of the most popular fish we keep to the mere poor effort fisheries make to try and breed Bulk fish for eating.
There are definatly bigger fish to fry and I honestly believe that this is a publicity attempt to sell he's book!!

this guy has been around advocating his issues for a while, and I think he does have some points (also some issues...) but in general he seems to be an attention seeker with very limited data (except his own)

As long as there is poverty in poor countries they will never be able to control it.What they need to do is regulate it slightly to ensure that the collection and shipping is done responsibly.The aquarium trade is responsible for learning how to propagate all kinds of invertabrates and fish.The Bunny huggers are ADD and in need of ritalin.They should rather spend their energy doing something about the endless tons of trash that is dumped in the ocean and the uncontrolled shark poaching and illegal trawlers on our coast.These people contribute to global warming by talking too much manure.The thing is that reefers are peacefull guys.Shark fin collectors have guns.I will always keep marines even if it is black tails and blennies.

I see see he says most fish does not live longer than a year in a tank. Dont you think we have something to sell to him and his followers? 'How to keep marine fish.' Maybe this can pay for our hobby.
Then they must ban Fishing in the whole as this is also not environmently friendly no more tune salad for him.
