If the Overnight service is used, what is the collection and Del times, IE how long will the courier company sit with it?

Time freight pick up by us 16H00 / 17H00 and normally it is available at their other depot by 08H00:slayer:

If you would like to know the exact time the truck normally arrive at your depot from PRETORIA just phone them. Time Freight Express. a division of DPD Laser (Pty) Ltd:p

It is always the safest to get confirmation from your depot on ETA and that they do receive over night from PRETORIA

we guarantee our live stock will arrive alive and will replace all DOA's if photo proof have been received.

Good for you, Moolis - it's about time that someone offered this type of service

On another note, do you think it is advisable sending live stock over night at this time of the year. The truck delivering to Bloemfontein (as an example) will be travelling a large distance at close to zero temperature, and even though the shipment wil be packed inside a polystyrene container I would be very surprised if the temperature has not dropped seriously by the next day... or do you use some type of heating pad inside the container?

Hennie

Ever felt how cold an aircraft's cargo hold gets ;)

Hi Hennie

Very good point - did not have time to discuss nitty gritty, but on heating:
  • YES - Styro boxes loose temp. during that time period.
  • I personally will only book fish :whistling:in the wormer months BUT - I receive stock weekly that was 24 to 36 hours on air cargo and found that by keeping to certain rules you can get healthy fish (we will keep to these rules!!!!!:wave2:
  • Fish will only be packed with heat pads in the currant times:p
  • Corals are no problem (heat packed;))
  • I will not add heat packs to hardware sorry

This is fantastic news Moolis!!! The LFS's here in cape town don't seem to have anything lately!

Worth it!

If you look at the amount in stock (CORALS) it is worth it.

I must say it is nice to see a LFS using proper lighting over their coral holding tanks, I have been to far too many LFS's that have severely inadequate lighting over their corals.

Thank you Viper:)

I do it not only to look good;), my actual reasons are:
  1. When i get new corals in and i give them optimum conditions, they survive:slayer:
  2. Under optimum conditions the THE Corals sell faster:thumbup::thumbup:
  3. in these tanks the corals are so happy - THEY ACTUALLYSPAWN, SEE SPAWN:yeahdude:SEE PHOTOS BELOW.
So it is a win (ME) win (YOU the customer) win (MOST importantly the CORALS) situation
