Oh and all my other zoas open and close as the light comes and goes but the Joker zoas just goes Triangular at night. They NEVER close!

Hi vincent, just keep in mind, the joker zoas your referring to is probably not zoas, but rather palythoas as i havent seen any joker zoas before... Only joker palythoas (please correct me if im wrong)
Ive got 2 specimens of palythoas that also only closes/opens in a U shape & not flat like the zoanthids!!!
    Hope this helps.

It's not the best of the best pics but I hope you can make out what's going on In the pic.

These green ones are flat when open

Jokes zoas/palythoas. The closed one in the middle is the only one that closes

I'll take a HD pic tomorrow and post It on MASA for Identification.

I don't think they are Joker palythoas. I think they might be Purple people eater zoas. I don't know!

Could be sick, might it not be zoa pox. They end up dying from this.

Or it could be insufficient flow.

    I'm clutching at straws here.

Hi vincent, did you get these zoas/palys from brentv?
They look like they need some recovery time, & it might be a zoa, but i dont think they are joker palys...
If i were you, i would put them in a bit more flow & give it some time!

Nope, from this pic, those are definitely true zoanthus sp. I also have that one in my tank. There's nothing wrong with them, they're healthy. I think the reason they take on slightly different shapes is because they can vary the amount of water in their gastrovascular cavity and so can change shape...

They will colour up to a dark navy blue with green tentacles!:p
