Splash resistant yea, waterproof I doubt. Maybe try and make extractor hole in hood? Also know of guys boards being blown if light is too close to water with high evaporation.Hi guys.
Wanted to know. Is this unit waterproof?
As was thinking about putting a zt6600 in the hood of my tank.
Or is this going to cause problems?

I get what you mean. That should be fine. Just make sure some moisture can escape from the hood so that it doesn't get too humid. Mine is about 15cm from waterline but fully open. You will also then get salt creep on the glass. Another alternative is to fit it to your hood and add another glass or perspex pane I the hood just under the light. Thus no moisture problemCool. Thanks for the advice.
I'm planning to setup the lights about 20cm above waterline,
Next question was, if I cut a hole in the hood, for only the glass light section to fit into, with the rest of the unit being on top of the hood, would that be safe?
Sorry, bit difficult to explain in words
