Hi anyone seen this verimark product for R699 - I think it was called ZeroWater - Kind of like a jug with a filter - apparently gives you 0 TDS and in the deal they give you tds meter to prove it - cheaper alternative to our hobby?

But on TV looks so easy - was thinking if ones needs RO water in a hurry this is like "instant" 0 TDS water - just pour into the jug and volla ... water ready to use RO ....

I suppose it might be better that tap water in an emergency.
I just wonder how accurate that TDS meter really is.
    Cheers

Me thinks I must put my Detective Chiks clothes on and visit my Game store tomorrow with my own TDS meter and investigate this - might be interesting!

It's probably just a DI resin. Wouldn't last very long. Suppose it's ok if you only use a jug at a time.

    Looks just like those jugs

    Will report back tomorrow

Just thinking of it as an emergency coz sometimes we need RO water in a hurry but our conventional RO units can't sometimes cope with our "emergencies" - Will ask how long the filter lasts and cost factor - maybe a very expensive yet effective form of RO

Looks like a DI resin. I don't think the cartridge will last long. You could just as well bypass the membrane section of your 4 stage waterboy and if you run the water slowly enough through the DI resin chamber, you would get the same results. The resin would get used up pretty quickly though.

Unfortunately this has to wait because our stores here have to wait for the bigger centres to see how sales go then we get stock - but according to its websites it is a 5 stage filter and truly gives you a reading of 000! Oh by the way tests were done by independant tds meters .... all came to 000!

Those Britta filters are hellish expensive in the long run a Waterboy is a much better option. Just a Q why would anyone (no in marines) want their water filtered down to that level - you shouldn't drink the purified water?

That's what I thought, apparently 0 TDS is water is bad for you? Unless you re-mineralise it?

That's what I read here on the forum awhile back - but this has been around from last year in the rest of the world and people are drinking the "0 WATER" - Check the link to it's site out - makes some high claims - even tested against "Brita" and I think "Pur"

Why would pure H2O be bad to drink?

It says it has a 5 stage ion exchange filter - as if that helps me  - ok water guys out there - does this make sense to anyone? And to Matt's question - is it bad for us or are we talking 2 different thing - pure H2O and 0 TDS water
