    Morning guys,

Hope all your tanks are doing awesome.

My current Livestock that I have is

    1 Regals tang(8cm)
    2 clown fish
    1 Naso tang(7cm)
    1 purple tang (6cm)
    1 coobtooth blenny
    1 six line wrasse
    1 cream angel

    All this is in a 1.5 x 600 x 500 tank

I want to add a yellow tang but I know there is going to be war with the purple tang,

So my question is should I add 2 or 3 yellow tangs?

2 so there will be an odd number of zebrasomas or 3 so there is an odd number of yellow tangs?

    Speedy responses will be appreciated.

Want to get them later on today:m03:

    Thanks

From what Ive seen from other reefers its a hit and miss. You might be successfull adding them but more than likely they will fight. Some suggest to add them at night or in darkness but have never tried this.

you already have 3 small tangs. They will still grow.

Your tank might be able to add another tang. But you will start to run out of space.

My tangs grew up. I bought the Naso as a 3 sub 5cm baby. Its now 25cm or maybe bigger. You should have seen their behavior changes when they upgraded from a 300L to a 750L. Both tanks were 5 foot. Just the width and height were different . Then again the changes later from that 750L to my current +1200L display 3.2M.

I do have a Scopa and a Yellow. The yellow is a lot smaller. So no real fights as the yellow moves away quickly. More a show of dominance.

I added a Flame Angle to my tank with a yellow tang in it.
They kept fighting for a few days, but then I attached a mirror to the one side of the tank for a week or 2.
The yellow tang was so busy with the mirror it left my flame alone for long enough and now they are happy.

my yellow was larger than my purple which I tried to introduce afterwards..yellow gave it hell..tried again n used a Perspex box to keep purple in the tank and after some time I released it back..yellow chased it a bit but not as bad as 1st time..now they fine together

personally its a big gamble..if I left the purple tang in initially it would have been dead for sure

why gamble? you know there is going to be aggression, which might lead to white spot etc, is it worth stressing out the animals?

yes i do, if you have a QT tank and can keep the purple out the tank for a week or 2, then re-introduce it will be fine as territories will be "reset"

    the choice is yours

    You got a 450L tank.

Already with 3 tangs, plus the cream angel that can get up to 20cm.
And now you want to add another 2 tangs.

How much hiding spots do you have?
Note that fish fights more when there is only one preferred sleeping spot. They all want that prime place.
