As long as the fish is eating healthy he should be fine. Try enriching his norri with garlic or vitamins. My regal gets white marks some times but it disappears within a day.

A Closer pic would help. My Naso had a gel like white doton it that grew to the size of a match head and then went away. As long as your fish is eating and seems healthy it should be fine. Try adding more garlic to its food.

You can go and purchase garlic drops from your LFS which you soak your food into before feeding.

Or simply buy the garlic enriched dried seaweed from your LFS. My Regal Tang used to get white spot a lot and whenever he did I would simply feed him the seaweed and in a day or two it would be gone

Rough handling during capture through the process to the eventual home. The virus is stimulated by poor water conditions and stress. Stress is most likely the key.
If the fish is or was QT in a copper treatment, this is also a possibility. The fish could also have cought the virus from an established inhabitant in a tank. Possibilities are many.

I would suggest that the nodules be scraped off the fish with a scaple and the wound/s be treated with mercurochrome. I have used mercurochrome with no ill effect in the past. However some would recommend gentian violet as an alternative.

In minor infections it is best to just treat with good water quality and vitermans.

Hi guys. Just read this thread now. I had the same problem with my 2 yellow tangs. As long as they eating, they will be fine and it will fall off based on my experience. U might notice that other tangs will chase it and try pecking at the appendage. But I haven't lost a fish to this and I hope u have the same success as I did.
