    Hi,

I bought what I thought was yellow tail blue damsel, but mines changed colour so much (permanently dark) not sure if it is perhaps another type of damsel. Temperament says it is a damsel as bullies the other fish.

I would say that something is agrovating it to the extent that it is permanently in war mode, hence the dark black colouration. Maybe spend some time and see what or who is agrovating it. I dont know if this applies to marines aswell, but in fresh water tanks ive seen people add a new chiclad and then it lays eggs and becomes hyper teritoriual! even though its the only one of its species in that tank.

That's a Pomacentrus (probably P. caeruleus), not a Chrysiptera. Chrysiptera damsels are always brightly coloured, most species of Pomacentrus tend to lose colour in tanks for some reason (and they're more aggressive).

I have one of them. And I found them a lot less aggresive than the normal Blue Yellow Tail damsel.

They used to be a pair, but one died.
    here is mine
