My SS Goby has been acting very strange for about a week now. He hides under rock for the whole day (and night) and I have not seen him feeding. He was one of the most active fish in this tank since the day I got him and ate like a pig !!

Anyone had a similar experience before ?

Anything I should be looking out for with these fish ?

Hi there @KAJSafrica. Unfortunately the fish died but in the interest of my lessons learnt and for other people here is the reply to your questions:

Yes I did add a Purple Fire Goby that immediately chased him out of his sleeping spot (under a rock) and which led to him acting strange almost immediately - and he never recovered.

Was a real shame as he was an awesome fish and a great character

Sorry to hear but I have read gobies do carry intestinal worms and it can over power them in closed aquariums etc, he could have also got a major fright etc, how long after he was evicted did he die?

about 2 weeks. He did swim about for a while with his mouth always open ... may have been worms - especially since they sand sifters, I guess
