So who had problems over the holidays? December seems to be a really bad time for tanks, every year without fail we hear about full scale tragedies and also lots of smaller problems. I've picked up a few here and there, like Bushman Bushman goes large - Page 25 - Marine Aquariums South Africa, and Carlos New 1000 litre (total water volume) Shallow Reef - Page 83 - Marine Aquariums South Africa

If something untoward happened over the Dec/Jan holidays in your tank, please post it here, it will possibly help others guard against these issues for the next holidays.:)

Had a client at Idol that lost all his live stock because of electrical issues. I had one power outage, my ups was fine, but changed the way my tank operated during the power outage. This silly mistske caused a kalk dump and a pH spike in the space of 2 minutes. Lost two fish. Moral of the story, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

The connection on my atu float switch corroded but stayed working until I came back from holiday and bumped the wire. Phew.

Carlos losing that beautiful tang is hart breaking!

The important part of running our return pump on UPS is that it oxygenates your water.

Im very confident in saying your tank will be up to perfection in a few weeks time!
