Hey all noticed this a while ago and thought it was squished fish poop. On closer inspection seems to be some kind of critter.. Any ideas?

Cool, a bit surprised they haven't been eaten yet then..

Am I looking at an infestation or will they get managed by available food?

As far as I know, they won't hatch.
My tank has plenty as well

I was met with a nice surprise a few weeks ago while cleaning my tank - lo and behold there was a baby astria snail hiding behind the rocks. It has survived and grown and is now cruising all over the tank. So they do hatch...

unless the eggs are on the front glass, I would leave them alone. Narita snails eggs I scrape off the front glass. On the back panel I just let them be.
