Window Putty

I removed a glass pane the other day, and was looking in my sump and found that some of the putty has fallen in:blushing:. I know the suff contains paraffin. Should I be worried?

if it contains paraffin i would do a partial water change,and run carbon to absorb the toxins

Was old putty (over 7 years), but it has gone soft in the water. I added the other tank the same day so it has 150l new water, busy making more RO water. By chance I installed the carbon again yesterday.

how long was it in for? if you haven't had any reactions in the yet, sure it will be ok, maybe do a water change and skim more.

Thalion I'm sure you will be fine. Run a bit of carbon for a few days in case but I doubt there's anything to be concerned about.

I'm sure everything will be fine. No solvents left in old putty

i lost everything in my tanks a few years back and i did not understand why everything died like that when i took the tank appart to redo it i found the kids thought it was fun to throw knifes and forks coins toys and other things even a bottle of blow bubbles well i ahve since then added a lock on the doors of my tank i think carbon and some more skimming wil solve your problem to and maybe a 25% water change
