This is my 70cm cube. My 1st marine tank. Might go bigger one day and do have the perfect spot for a 1.5m, but my wife's grandma's piano is standing in my future spot. My wife: It is a piece of their heritage. Myself: looking at the future, that 1.5m marine tank could one day be part of our heritage;). She'll get over it...eventually.

My lifestock:
Fish:
Naso
Yellow eye bristletooth
Foxface
2 clowns
Black blenny
Clown coby
2 Mandarins (male/female)

Corals:
2 bubble tips
Carpet anemone
Frogspawn
Hammer
Duncans
Monti
Candy cane
Zoas

Sump:
Nothing fancy. Running a BM filter sock, BM curve 5 skimmer, some ceramics, Eheim 300W heater, live rock and Sobo 6500 l/h return pump.
Wave makers: Sobo 6000 l/h and Jebao RW8.
Lights: Self build led light with equipment and controller from Improved Living.
**I still need an ATO**
Salt: ATM Hot Salt

Maintenance:
Weekly 25 liters water change and general tank/glass cleaning.

My foto is not with fancy lighting, normal white and blue. #nofilter

Cheers

Only a week left (roughly) to get your entries in, keep them coming :D

So as of 25 September my tank is exactly 3 months old and therefore I am allowed to enter:m41:

DIY ATO

Built stand, sump and all structural parts myself. Needed to save where I could. I love the 16mm fibreglass panels on the stand coz why not:slayer:

Maintenance:
Feed a small pinch of food daily
Vacuum tank twice weekly into the filter sock then replace filter sock with a clean one
Clean glass every second day
Feed corals 1-2 times per week
Water change once a month with AF reef salt

Dosing:
Robertson's Bicarb for alk

My little IM Fusion 10.

Tank has been up and running a little over 4months now after being taken down for most of the year. A few corals still recovering from move back.

I plan to change the aquascaping soon to add more height to it. Plan for it is to be a heavy Aussie inspired lps tank filled with scolymias, acans, a few favias and one or two hammers, etc.

Current equipment:
Innovative marine fusion 10 with upgraded Intank media basket currently setup as a refugium running Chaeto with a Magna fuge light on the back. This will be changed to run Marine Pure bio spheres.
Innovative Marine SkimMate Ghost Skimmer
IM desktop media reactor running carbon and gfo.
50w heater
Jebao SW-2 Wavemaker
Currently doing manual RO top offs but will add top off unit in the future.
Lighting is a Kessil a160we

Corals:
Aussie Scolymias
Various acans
Wall hammer
Zoas
Bubble coral
Cynarina coral
Blastos

Livestock:
Midnight clownfish
Emerald crab
Porcelain crab

Maintenance:
10l water changes weekly with Seachem vibrancy salt and Aquavitro seed.
Dosing Aquavitro fuel and Reefroids twice a week.
Test parameters every 2nd week and adjust according with Aquavitro Calcification, Eight.four, Ions.
Run Seachem matrix carbon and phosbond in reactor which is changed monthly.

I have been making change back to aquaforest this week slowly so will document process.

Here is my tank, it has been running for a year and half now
[GALLERY=media, 11686]tank overview2 by clintb posted 3 Oct 2018 at 21:17[/GALLERY]

Tank:
Size is 2000x750x600 with my old 1.2 m as a sump. Total water volume is just shy of 1000l.

Lighting:
Massively overengineered DIY LED system controller by Arduino and raspberry pi, about 350W in the display and 30W in the Fuge - currently running at <50% max.

Supplements:
4 chan auto doser dosing Fusion 1 and 2 and Nopox
Add Fish-V and garlic to Fish Food
Dose Fuel and/or AF/Amino Mix manually
Spot feed Reef pearls whenever Nitrates get too low
Add calcium, magnesium, KH manually when needed
Currently running Purigen but don't regularly run purigen or carbon

Heating:
2x300W Jager heaters
4 fans to keep lights cool
Temp is usually very stable, in peak summer it starts to rise, but adding frozen water in the evenings keeps it alright.

Other Equipment:
Skimmer is a Curve 5 (which is undersized so need near daily cleaning :(
1x gyre and 1x Jebao wavemaker
Jebao 8kl DC return pump split into two returns also powering reactor.

Parameters:
10.5 DKH
450 Calcium
1500 Magnesium
5 Nitrate
don't measure Phosphate

Water changes:
50-70litres every 1-2 weeks (I enjoy the process so mostly every week)

4 foot tank

Hardware
Zetlight 6600 leds
Jecod dc return pump
Bubble magnus curve 7
Waterboy uv x
Mp10 powerhead
Halier 1 hs chiller
300 w jager heater

Supplements

Aqua forest magnesium weekly
Aqua forest calcium weekly
Kalkfasser 2 x weekly
Iodine weekly

Lots of fish and corals and only do a water change every 3rd month

Advice to give to a newbie is slow is right and what works for one will not necessarily work for you!! Research as much as possible and don’t just add fish/corals with out the proper background checks as this is a hobby that must conserve marine life due to the situation within our oceans!!

Lighting:
Only the best... T5 lighting with upgraded Night LED's.

1 X Auto Doser.
1 X Chiller.
1 X Led light setup.
2 X RW15 wave makers.
1 X UPS.
1 X UV system.

Parameters:
Dont know. Havent tested in a year. Gauge by looking at the behaviour of the tank.

Water changes:

Tips and Learnings:
Keep it simple. Try too many things at once and youll be in trouble.
Take your time with this hobby. Enjoy the experience. Rush and it will be costly.
