will this substrate be better then Sugar fine Playsand for DSB

i have about 35Kg of this substrate
    [IMG]

Its a mix of aragonite, coral sand and crushed coral and as you can see is quite fine. would it be better to use this as the top most layer of my dsb or would playsand be a better option i would love just aragonite but its too expensive for me

Yes Ziyaad - this will be perfect! Bushwacker - the picture is extremely magnified..... If you actually look at the ruler spacing (the mm) you will see it is actually not that course....
It's about the same that I have in my tank (particle sizing).....

Hey Jacques, I want to use that for my DSB would it do a better job then Playsand even though it has a larger particle size?

I use mine for both my DSB, in my sump, as well as in my tank....

Yes - smaller particles would be perhaps more ideal - but this will work just as well, as long as your DSB is at least 120mm deep....

Both will do the job. Your current media imo is the better option, even if only taken as been more natural.

It will be fine Ziyaad. My old system had the bottom layer of the DSB in Live sea sand and the balance was aragonite like yours here.

As far as i know the finer the better. But i cant see anything wrong in it. As long your DSB is 12-15cm deep it will solve the purpose IMO
