the entire light setup cost me 26$ salvage computer power sorce & ballist 10$ for 2 new10k bulbs 7$ for sheet aluminum to make reflector 9$ in electrical parts to set up power suply 2 resistors 1 switch 2 b jacks this power suply can run 4 bulbs
lumins per watt means nothing useable lumins per watt is what counts xenon puts out more useable & visable lumins per watt then any other light i have used you can have a 400 watt mh light but if 50%of the light is not useable 400 watts means nothing

Have seen a large reducrion in nuisance algae groth also A burst in coralin groth he was not useing a cheep mh bulb eather he was useing a Hamilton 400watt hqi. I will poast pics of his tank when I see him agian he lives 80 miles from me if he has time maby he will email me some pics to poast I also took a spectral reading on his Hamilton and on the xenon hamilton paeks in blue slumps down and hsa a small peak in red xenon peaks in blue slopes down a bit then is flat acrost and slopes up again in red the mesurment from xenon more closely mimics mid day sun light then any oher light.
