hi guys
im currently dosing fushion 1 and 2 by seachem aswell as magnesium.( the mag is cheap) ! its amazing stuff but it drains my pocket. what you guys dosing and is there any additive I can buy in bulk and mix myself or dilute or something. thanks in advance

How big is your tank?

Cheapest I can think of is getting some slake lime ( Calcium Hydroxide at Dischem) and Epsom Salts ( Magnesium Sulfate at pick and pay or at Dischem).

The slake lame will cover your calcium and alkaline, and the epsom salts your magnesium.

Follow this reef calculator Reef Chemistry Calculator to be precise on you dosing requirements for your tank.

What about using the seachem powdered range and make your own solutions

You could use Epsom salts for magnesium but it contains sulphur as well so it's not ideal to use long term. i used to use halcyon reef salt and it kept mg levels in check , but it's not a redliy available salt , so I am using seachem reef salt atm and my levels are lower in the seachem salt so I am dosing with continuum aquatics magnesium, it is much cheaper than the aquavitro ions for example. I paid around 150 for a 500 ml bottle . I've never had prob with calcium so I can't comment on that. I have used reef fusion thoiugh and I personally think it's a waste of money tbh. With regards to alkalinity, I occasinally dose aquavitro 8.4

I have a lot of sps so they drain my tank quickly. magnesium source I use is cheap so just need the calcium and alk
