    I have a white spot breakout.

    Want to use the bucket method to try and save my fish.(RiaanP)

    Not exactly sure how it works. How long do I keep the fish in a bucket before I change to the next bucket.

    What do I put in the buckets. Heater . Flow. Airstone?

    Please Help.

    @Marius Geyser,
    How many fish do you have, and what are their sizes?

    Which ever method you use i would recommend treating the powder blue and regal tangs seperatly.

    @Marius Geyser

    How big are the fish?

    you can do a few together, depending on bucket and size

    Where in Centurion are you?

    Hi Riaan I am a stone throw from you. Wierda Glen Estate. Only saw your message now. Was setting up a quarantine tank. 600x 600 cube that I wasn't using.

    Go to your nearest LFS and ask them for 2 or 3 of the polystyrene boxes they receive their livestock in. I use these, as they keep water temp nice and even. Every 3days you transfer fish over to another box and clean the old one out and let it dry in the sun. Do this for 12days (3transfers in total, the 4th transfer will be to your quarantine tank where the fish must stay for at least 35days).
    Let your main tank stand empty of any fish for this whole period.

    Going through all of this is really not as much of a shlep as you would think and the benefits far outweigh the little bit of inconvenience.

    Good luck!
    ps., use one of those plastic measuring cups to catch and trf the fish from one container to the next - don't use a net. If you place little pieces of pvc pipe in the containers for the fish to hide, it's easy to catch them, as they go into the pipes. just remember to have 2 sets of pipes as well and clean and sundry just like container.

    You would need 2 "buckets"

    buckets are a lot easier to clean out.
    Do not break
    lighter
    no stands needed
    do not need to be level

    and and and

    I got 2 * 250L big bins you can use. Same volume than a 1.2m tank. Just so much easier.

    If you want to setup temporary systems, rather go to Plasticland here at Lifestyle shopping center. You can pack it up and store it a lot easier than glass tanks.

    All my inmates has survived so far. Gave the tangs lots of garlic nory, that's all that I had last night.
    Today All the fish looks allot better. Can hardly see the white spots. I also went ahead and got some 3 ft tanks. Hospital.
