white dots

    I don't know what these circle white dots are. I'm hoping there not a form of ick. Anyone know what they could be?

    White spot is not visible to the naked eye on if on liverock.

    Ok that good to hear. Any idea what it could be? It wasnt there when i first got the LR and is spreading quickly

    Just check if there is a small fan at the one end of the circle. It could be a small fan worm that builds a calcium tube for itself. My tank is still new and have plenty of them. It is a good thing in my opinion, it means life if taking hold.

    not quite those snail eggs look more flat these look like little white doughnuts. sorry about blurriness in picture its really zoomed in. it almost look like it is swirling then turns out away from the rock like in the first picture. the second one shows the doughnut shape

    They are fan worms / feather duster worms. Good filter feeders to have in your tank.

    Good or Bad?:
    Fan worms are never bad. They exist in virtually every reef tank and earn a living by filtering the water through their fan to collect small foods to eat. Growth and proliferation of fan worms indicates that there is enough floating particles in the water to support them.

    alright ill let them stay if there good for the tank. as i was setting up my new sump i notices this little pink plant with white balls on little tentacles. any idea what this is?

    It's a Cnidirian of some sort. Looks a bit like Pseudocorynactis.

    There really small yet but i have two of them. Are they a benefit to the tank?
