I've herd it called the poor mans Moorish. You could get them through your local pet shop if they stock marines. Or if you live along our coast line from about PE up towards Durban you could get a license and catch one yourself.

phillip, perhaps give us more info on your system, as heni's can be a problem if coral is concerned... i have had 2 which i caught in a coral tank and have taken them out because they started to damage my corals...

i hear they are pretty thick along the coast atm...

@leslie hempel I have a 1000 litre tank not much corals at this stage

    Zoas
    Yellow pincushion
    Some plating monti
    Pulsing xenia
    Blue and red mushroom
    Kenya tree coral
    Torch coral
    Gsp

    Fish:
    Yellow tang
    Regal tang
    Blue cromis
    Fire fish
    Wrasse
    Common clown

    Inverts:
    Cleaner shrimp
    Fire shrimp
    Blue legged hermits
    Giga clam

BUT I AM LOOKING IN ADDING MORE CORALS AS TIME GOES SO IF THAT IS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM AT A LATER STAGE I WOULD RATHER LET THIS ONE SLIP.
I READ THAT THEY ARE REEF COMPATIBLE WHAT CORALS DO THEY ATTACK OR DAMAGE

mine went for LPS zoas and star polyps..

beautiful fish but just not worth the trouble in a reef system

one i caught about 2 years ago landed up in a friends tank for safe keeping and chowed his corals aswell and he finally passed it on to cape town fish market which has had it in a FOWLR system since and its thriving..

they also become large so even though 1000lt is a adequate sized system the capacity of the destruction such a fish can cause can be a problem.

note that there are different species within the group some of which are seemingly reef safe.. but as with all fish i personally believe it to be more of an indicidual fish tempermentthan a species generalisation as to if they are reef safe or not...
