    Hi guys

When should you replace your RO filter and membrane cartridges, My TDS is still at 1 and my RO membrane is a year old and cartridges are 5 months old. If the TDS is one is there any reason to change them.

At what TDS would you change your filters.

My tap waters TDS is 100 so the machine is working.

TDS of 1 isn't a problem, your R/O filter is only 98% efficient anyway, so you're doing well, you could add a DI resin unit at the end to finish off your filtering, but stick with your filters for now they're fine.

With a DI unit, they can last longer, your tap water TDS is pretty low so don't replace them until the TDS is 10, and no R/O water with a TDS of zero contains no phos or anything else, it's just pure water.

rule of thumb every 6 months on the pre-filters and 2 to 3 years on the membrane

remember if your t.d.s is still low after 6 months and you dont your pre-filter cartridges.......chlorine may start entering the membrane chamber and damaging your membrane.

so rather be safe and buy the pre-filter set religiously every 6 months;)

De Ioniser, That unit only has 3 stages. Purely a RO Unit. I have the same one. DI unit is the next stage after that.

No de ioniser on my unit. but it does have a flush value that i use for 20min before starting my RO production, seeing that I only run it for about 2 days a week.
