Nitrate - Never exceed 20 ppm, and should ideally be below 10ppm in reef setups

Nitrite must be kept below 0.05 ppm

Nitrate, ideally, should be zero, but that is unlikely. In a nano it is very important to keep the params spot on, there is a very small water volume in a nano so it won't take much to tip the balance from a bit unpleasant to downright nasty.

It depends on what live stock you have. For fish only and soft corals Nitrate of 100ppm would be tolerable, but not ideal.
