Dont think so, watched a NatGeo documentary about "cleaner stations" in the wild (normally were xenia grow), and they recon they pulse furiously to catch little parrasites etc that fall from the fish when the wrasse clean them...

So I would think if they not pulsing, maybe they arnt hungry? :tt2:

LOL, did not imply anyone has parrasites in there water...:) Just saying that in the wild this is what they catch in the cleaner stations....;)

My water is anything from dirty...in fact ULNS....and my xenia pulses like crazy....maybe its just a system/species dependent thing??

    it is system dependant

Xenia is , like most corals , dependatn on lighting , flow and nutrients . After upgrading my lighting the xenia started growing and changed colour and size (pink to white) . Also , if your xenia is used to medium to high flow and flow is suddenly stopped , it will pulse like mad (in my tank anyway)
