If someone had to give you R100 000.00 to setup a tank what would you setup in regards to all aspects of the tank. It would be interesting to get different peoples perspectives. Use the following format:

    Tank:
    Lights:
    Skimmer:
    etc
    etc

    small writeup

    what i would do:
    Tank: 2400*900*800
Lights: 3*150W 20k MH and a mix of T5 blue and actinic
    Skimmer: Twin pump BB5000 external
    Sump: running a HUGE refugium
Fish: Angels, Dwarf angels, Butterflies and 1 or 2 surgeons - yes this will be a FOWLR tank

    on a serious note

    tank : 3m x 3m x 2m
lights: a few 250W 20k MH units just for supplimentation , main lighting source would be natural.
skimmer : a few tall boy skimmers
    flow: dump flow surge device
nutrient export : super huge ATS outside ( natural light again )

everything outside except for the tank.

FOWLR system full of tangs and angels.

    its achievable..

exotic had a special going on monster tanks this past december , if i remember correctly they are doing tank like thier large display as you walk in for R18K, so this is very achievable

the MH units will only need 4, so say 2k each there with a total of 8k

skimmers: i dont have actual pricing but lets say even 20k each and you still within budget.

ats can be built of regular old stuff laying around the yard and the surge device have a look at youtube and you will see they too are just made out of drums and all you will need here are pumps to fill the drums.

so i believe within 100k you can still get away with this system easily.

and if water is an issue there are always tons of okes doing water changes and you can get thier water for free. i have done this in the past and it is actually how i started my cube without any issues.

Ziyaad keep in mind that 90% if not everything in this hobby is way overpriced, honestly you could probably get away with this system if you not too worried about how it looks for less than 80k

but honeslty we all over spend on our tanks anyways so i do also see how you think it wouldnt be possible.

i would really love a system like this if i had the space.

Why plasma? They are yellow(6000 K) and heavy on power if turned up. I think you would bleach your corals anyway if you use it to full potential.

I think LED's are a much better proposition at the moment. You can build a mean LED fixture for less than half the price of the plasma.
