I use a 150w 20000k MH for a 70 litre sps frag set up, good colours and reasonable growth. In a sun lit system we have better growth but definite browning comparatively.
I wouldn`t use energy savers for an sps frag set up unless the kelvin rating was at least 6500k and the t5`s you mentioned were 20000k.

IMO depending on how deep the frag tank is, I would put a small MH or if it is a shallow tank a couple T5's

Hmmm, I suppose if it's just for a frag tank then it might be ok. What are you going to change the globe to?

Ruan - yes, it will work. BUT, the frags/corals will not color up as they should - MAJOR UV assists in getting the corals to color up..... This light will help your corals grow BIG TIME, though....

Dallas - that's a standard "halogen floodlight" that you get at any Builders Warehouse....
